Tenzin Khando is a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse at EVOLVE, where she combines her extensive medical expertise with a profound commitment to patient care. With a Bachelor of Nursing degree from Humber College in collaboration with the University of New Brunswick, Tenzin is registered in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
Having started her healthcare journey at Mount Sinai Hospital, Tenzin gained invaluable experience in a hospital setting. As a mother of three, she sought a work-family balance, which led her to join TRIO and EVOLVE in July 2022. Here, she has gained extensive experience as both a primary care nurse and an OR nurse, a unique combination that equips her to understand and manage various aspects of patient care.
At EVOLVE, Tenzin derives immense joy from her interactions with patients, especially when they achieve positive results. She takes pride in delivering excellent medical care and providing personal and compassionate support to each patient, a testament to her commitment to patient care.
Her favourite part of her job is witnessing the joy in patients’ voices when she informs them of successful outcomes, such as the number of matured or frozen eggs. Tenzin’s compassionate touch is evident when she comforts patients during difficult times, ensuring they leave the clinic feeling cared for and supported.
Tenzin’s passion for women’s health and fertility is deeply rooted in her love for children and her personal experiences. She channels her maternal instincts and passion for helping others into her work. Tenzin believes strongly in women’s empowerment and the right of every woman to decide her family planning and future.
Tenzin’s professional skills are comprehensive, covering patient assessment, monitoring, medication administration, and health teaching for vulnerable populations. She has also honed strong interpersonal and therapeutic communication skills, enabling her to build rapport with patients and their families. Her extensive clinical experience includes work in long-term care, cardiac, nephrology, rehabilitation, post-partum, mental health, community health, and wound care clinics, showcasing her ability to provide a wide range of high-quality care.
Tenzin’s certifications, including ASIST (Assisted Suicide Intervention Skills Training) and First Aid & CPR, along with her Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) training, further enhance her ability to provide high-quality care. Her commitment to continuous learning and professional development ensures that she remains at the forefront of nursing practice.
